Bulletin

AI-powered news reading for the Apple ecosystem.

Elevator Pitch

Bulletin is a beautifully designed RSS reader with AI-powered article summaries built in — a focused way to keep up with the writers and publications you care about. The AI never decides what you see. You choose the feeds, you choose when a summary helps.

Key Features

  • AI article summaries

Understand the key points of any article before committing to the full read.

  • Digest any feed

Summarise across multiple articles in a feed at once — perfect for catching up after a few days away.

  • Cleaner headlines, on demand

Tap any headline to get a plainer, more descriptive version — applied only when you want it.

  • Your feeds, your way

Add custom RSS feeds from any site, organise into categories, import OPML.

  • Read later, synced

Save articles and sync across iPhone, iPad, and Mac via iCloud.

  • Built for Apple

Extra-dark mode for OLED, adjustable text, nine alternate app icons, widgets.

History

Bulletin launched in February 2024, one month after Instagram co-founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger announced the shutdown of Artifact — the algorithmic AI news reader that briefly defined what "AI news" could feel like. Where Artifact leaned on a recommendation engine to decide what you see, Bulletin was built on the opposite idea: you choose the feeds, AI just helps you read them faster. Originally an indie iOS project, Bulletin joined the Pixelfolio portfolio in 2025 and continues to evolve as a focused, privacy-respecting alternative in a news app landscape dominated by algorithms.

Press coverage

“Users can customize news sources the app features, as you could in any other RSS reader, instead of relying on a curated selection.”

About Pixelfolio Inc.

Pixelfolio is a one-person iOS studio run by Dominic Williams, who grew up in Wales and now lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The company builds and stewards a portfolio of well-crafted, delightful apps for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, and Vision Pro — some acquired from their original developers and given a second life, others built from scratch.

The common thread is a design philosophy built on craftsmanship — sweating every detail of the user experience and putting the customer ahead of everything else. A small studio can care about the things larger teams have to skip, and that care is the product.
